KINGDOM IS MENTIONED 162 times in NT

  1. JOHN preached it

         Matt. 3:1-2  NLT

1 In those days John the Baptist came to the Judean wilderness and began preaching. His message was,

2 “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

  1. Jesus preached it

      Matt. 4:16-17  NLT

16 the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light.

And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined

17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

              Matt. 10:5-8 NLT

5 Jesus sent out the twelve apostles with these instructions: “Don’t go to the Gentiles or the Samaritans,

6 but only to the people of Israel—God’s lost sheep.

7 Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near.

8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

  1. **Jesus commands us to seek His kingdom.

                                Matt 6:33  NLT

33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

  1. **Jesus commanded us to pray for it.

             Matt. 6:9-10 KJV

9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

              WHAT IS THE KINGDOM?

The establishment of order, purpose, Authority, and rulership of God on the earth based on spiritual principles, which demands right relationship with God.

                I Corinthians 4:20 – NLT

  1. For the kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk, it is living by God’s power.

This definition has some serious implications for us. The reason so many of us as believers are struggling is that we want God to bless our agenda rather than our fulfilling His agenda. We want God to okay our plans rather than our fulfilling His plans. We want God to bring us glory rather than our bringing Him glory.

***GOD’S first establishment of his rule is seen in the garden of Eden when he created Adam and Eve.

                   Genesis 1:26-27  KJV

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

  1.    Where did it all go wrong?

   Genesis 3:1-10 (NLT)

       Three areas of our temptations:

                   I John 2:16 (NIV)

  1. The lust of the flesh.

“she saw that the tree was good for food”

  1. The lust of the eyes.

   “pleasing to the eye.”

  1. The pride of life.

   “desirable for gaining wisdom”

  1. What has Christ done for us?

                  John 10:10  (amp)
